Help · Cancellations

Change of plans? Here's the math.

Refunds are predictable on Cache: a grace period right after acceptance, clear tiers as pickup approaches, and a full refund any time an owner cancels on you.

01

The two-hour grace period

Cancel within two hours of the owner accepting — with pickup still more than 24 hours away — and you get a full, fee-free refund. Change your mind quickly and it's as if the booking never happened.
02

If you cancel as a renter

After the grace period, refunds step down as pickup approaches:
  • More than 48 hours before pickup - full rental refund, minus the card-processing fee the payment network doesn't return.
  • 24-48 hours before pickup - 75% of the rental back.
  • Less than 24 hours before pickup - 50% back.
  • After the rental starts - no refund.

The portion kept doesn't vanish - it goes to the owner who held the dates for you, minus Cache's usual fee.

03

If the owner cancels

You're refunded in full, every time, straight back to your card. Owners cover the processing costs on their side, so cancelling on a renter is never free for them.
04

Before anything is charged

A request the owner hasn't accepted yet can be cancelled freely - no charge ever happened, so there's nothing to refund.
05

Running late instead?

Message the owner. Extra days bill at the listed daily rate - usually a far better deal than a late cancellation, and it keeps the handoff friendly.
